USU BOARD OF REGENTS
The Secretary of Defense suspended advisory committees within the Department of Defense on January 30, 2021, to include the USU Board of Regents, pending an enterprise-wide 'zero-based review.'
The USU Board of Regents, established by law (10 USC 2113a), is an integral component of the USU strategic and operational enterprise.
Role of Board Members
The USU Board of Regents (BOR) is a chartered Federal Advisory Committee that provides advice and guidance to ensure quality outcome, relevance, and successful operation of the university to the Secretary of Defense, Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, and USU President.
Given its unique composition and diverse experts, the Board is able to provide independent advise on topics crucial to the Military Health System (MHS). All members of the Board are appointed to provide advice on the basis of their best judgment without representing any particular point of view and in a manner that is free from conflict of interest.
