Biography

Major Ricardo Aldahondo is the Director of Operations, 60th Medical Support Squadron, David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, California. In this role, he serves as Deputy Squadron Commander to a 432-member total force team at the Air Force's largest Tier-1 Medical Center. He directs the execution of a $487M budget, a manpower portfolio of 2.4K personnel and resources 51 clinics delivering care to 276K TRICARE and Veterans Administration beneficiaries.

He is also a Faculty Appointed Assistant Professor with the Uniformed Services University’s School of Medicine. As a Professor, he conducts scientific research on the resilience of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

Major Aldahondo is originally from Tucson, Arizona and first joined the U.S. Air Force in 2009 as an enlisted Health Services Management Technician. He was later competitively selected for a direct commission into the U.S. Air Force Medical Service Corps in 2013.

Major Aldahondo has received numerous awards at the Headquarters Service, Headquarters Combatant Command, Major Command and unit levels. He has years of experience leading personnel at Military Treatment Facilities, Headquarters Staffs and on crisis action teams. He has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Combatant Command Staff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff humanitarian assistance operations.
