TRISERVICE NURSING RESEARCH PROGRAM
The TSNRP mission is to facilitate nursing research to optimize the health of military members and their beneficiaries. TSNRP supports quantitative and qualitative studies on operational or deployment health topics in several strategic areas including force health protection; nursing competencies and practice; and leadership, ethics, and mentoring.
TSNRP Strategic Goals:
- Develop nurse scholars and facilitate TriService scholarly collaboration.
- Provide a TriService infrastructure to enhance military nursing research and advance Evidence-Based Practice.
- Support research and Evidence-Based Practice projects on areas relevant to military readiness and military nursing practice.
- Enhance strategic communication to TSNRP stakeholders to increase awareness and relevance of military nursing research and Evidence-Based Practice.
HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM
Doctorally prepared nurses from the Army, Navy, and Air Force began meeting informally in 1988 at the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS) convention. In fall 1990, representatives from all three services formed the Federal Nursing Research Interest Group; it later became the TriService Nursing Research Group (TSNR Group).
