Biography
Althea A. Scott, EdD, is an assistant professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), the Department of Psychiatry ACR Director, and Clinical Education Coordinator.Dr. Scott spearheads the Department of Psychiatry's first-ever student assessment of faculty performance and is the project lead for the USU multi-clerkship quality improvement Faculty Performance Assessment Project.
Dr. Scott received her doctorate in education from Creighton University, her master's degree from Central Michigan University, and her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Dr. Scott is the co‐chair of the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP) Clerkship Administrator Component, where she spearheads a collaborative platform for psychiatry clerkship administrators nationwide. She also serves as an abstract reviewer for the ADMSEP Annual Meeting submissions.
An active member of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Central Group on Educational Affairs (CGEA), Dr. Scott is the co-director of the CGEA/AAMC Medical Education and Clerkship Administrators Certification Program.
Dr. Scott was selected for the USU School of Medicine Dean's Fellowship Program for 2023. She received the ADMSEP Excellence in Clerkship Administration Award in 2023.
