Biography
Dr. Kirsten R. Brown is an assistant professor of medicine at the Center for Health Professions Education (CHPE) at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on issues of power, disability, and medical education. Dr. Brown’s upcoming projects examine the intersection of qualitative research methodologies and disabled ways of knowing. Selected publications include a co-authored book, Disability in Higher Education: A Social Justice Approach and articles in the Journal of Higher Education, the Journal of College Student Development, and the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education. Dr. Brown serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education and CSAJ. Dr. Brown’s teaching focuses on qualitative research methodologies. At CHPE she teaches and advises graduate students preparing to be leaders, researchers, and innovators in Health Professions Education.https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1008-4397
