Lauren Maggio PhD

Biography

Dr. Lauren Maggio is Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University (USU) and the Center for Health Professions Education (CHPE). She also serves as Associate Director for Scholarly Communication for CHPE. Dr. Maggio completed her PhD in health professions education at Utrecht University in collaboration with the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Maggio’s research explores how to effectively connect physicians, learners and patients with biomedical information through the design of educational interventions and technical solutions, and by facilitating access to knowledge for public and professional use. She also serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief for Perspectives on Medical Education and on the editorial board of Academic Medicine. Dr. Maggio has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles.
